Bucks for Buckles
September 11, 2007
State Farm Agent Katie Hayes received a grant from the Kansas State Department of Transportation for the Bucks for Buckles Program. The program is designed to encourage students and parents to buckle up! As students arrived at the crosswalk at Liberty Elementary on Thursday morning in the rain, State Farm Agent Katie Hayes quickly looked into the vehicle to see if all passengers were buckled. If they were she thanked them for being buckled and gave the driver a one dollar bill. If even one passenger in the vehicle was not buckled they received a car with information on how important it is to buckle. The program was quite a success that day and the students are curious to see if she will be back.
