School Boards are an Essential Piece
January 03, 2008
The Kansas Association of School Boards has deemed January 2008 as School Board Recognition Month in Kansas. This is a time to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our society.
The Galena School District is joining with other districts
throughout the state to recognize the important contributions our
board members have made to the community. They
have devoted countless hours toward the advancement of public
education, and their talents and commitment have helped to make the
Galena School District the proud district that it is today.
The Galena School Board boasts over 90 years of experience between the seven members. The school board members serving our district, as they are shown in the picture, and their years of service are as follows:
Donald Noe - 30 years, Larry Miller - 14 years, Denise Titus - 9 years, William VanCleave - 9 years, Troy Wade - 3 years, Mike Gibson - 11 years, Superintendent Brian Smith, and David Ryan - 18 years
The students and staff of Galena USD #499 wish to thank these board members for all of the hard work they have put in to our district throughout their years of service!!!
