Students celebrate Dr. Seuss Day

March 07, 2008

Liberty Elementary students enjoyed a fun-filled Dr. Seuss Day on Friday, February 29.  Students had the opportunity to showcase their reading skills when they traveled to Spring Grove Primary Center during the morning to read to a "buddy".  A special guest, Dr. Seuss character "Cat in the Hat", visited the reading buddies while they shared stories and snacks.

The students also participated in many fun activities during the

set up for guest readers to come into the school to read Dr. Seuss books to the students. Both students and readers loved this activity. A special thanks to all the Guest Readers who helped put a smile on a child’s face!!!

The final event of the day was a party to celebrate Dr. Seuss and Read Across America Day. Students enjoyed cookies, punch, and prizes at the parties.  Everyone enjoyed the days activities and are already looking forward to next years event!!!
