NHS Inducts New Members
March 11, 2008
The Galena High School National Honor Society welcomed new members on Sunday afternoon, March 2. NHS sponsor Ruschelle Gunlock and NHS president Spencer Harding welcomed everyone to the afternoon's festivities. New inductees Carli Holt, Randi Cantrell, Sam Ferguson, and Hannah Hays sang the National Anthem.
Ashton Titus and Kirstyn Burris participated in the lighting of the candles standing for Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service and then the 2008 inductees were called to the stage to be recognized and take the NHS pledge. Each outgoing Senior had the opportunity to thank their families, friends, and teachers for all of the support they have received over the last four years. They also congratulated the incoming members for their accomplishments in being chosen as members. At the end of the ceremony, each member participated in the ceremonial lighting of individual candles. Guests were treated to a cake and punch reception following the ceremony.
2008 new inductees are Courtney Anderson, Josh Bryant, Randi Cantrell, Sam Ferguson, Shelby Gibson, Jacee Hall, Barbara Hastings, Taylor Haynes, Hannah Hays, Carli Holt, Shelbi Hussong, Dillon Katzer, Colton Leet, Jacoby Martin, Kayla McGinnis, Kelsey New, Terra Smith, and Whittney VanCleave.
2008 Senior NHS members are Mitch Albright, Trevor Albright, Kirstyn Burris, Adrienne Dodge, Spencer Harding, Noemi Lopez, Jarred Simmons, Kelsey Stidham, Ashton Titus, Liz Trejo, Whitney Wade, and Stephanie Watson.
Junior NHS members already inducted are Tesa Blair, Caitlin Childress, Stephen Derfelt, Jeremy Donahue, Kjersti McDonald, Olivia Murray, Brianna New, Jarrod Riley, Sarah Russell, Jennie Steele, Priscilla Taylor, Valerie Taylor, and Kaylah Williamson.
Congratulations to all of the new, current, and outgoing National Honor Society members for all of their hard work and dedication throughout high school.
