GHS After Prom Committee Receives Mini Grant

The Galena After Prom Committee was recently selected to receive
a $1000.00 mini-grant compliments of Wal-Mart. Tina LaTurner,
Galena After Prom secretary and treasurer, was presented the
$1000.00 check at the 7th Street Wal-Mart during an employee
meeting.
The Galena Prom will be held on Saturday, April 12th and the Galena
After Prom Party will be held that evening at the Joplin Family Y
on 32nd St. The Galena After Prom Party is a drug and alcohol free
lock-in which provides Galena High School students with an evening
filled with food, fun and valuable prizes.
The After Prom Committee is a parent organization which holds
several fund raising events throughout the year. Even with the many
fundraising activities, the After Prom Party would not be possible
without the generous donations of businesses, organizations and
individuals, such as Wal-Mart.
This grant is given annually by Wal-Mart to deserving organizations.The Galena After Prom Committee would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Wal-Mart for their donation which will be used to buy prizes for their upcoming event.
