Y After School Program A Big Success

This year the Galena Elementary Schools began offering the Y After School Program compliments of continual generous donations from Celltron. This program consists of an after school snack, reading opportunities, homework time and physical activity. These structured activity periods plan to help children develop their creative abilities, learning skills, and social relationships.
Each week’s activities are planned to provide just the right balance of learning and
fun. The students enjoy games, outdoor activities, quiet time for homework, reading and/or special projects. Over 40 students are enrolled in the program and enjoy this time with their teachers - former Galena students Karessa New, Kellen Ryan, and Glenn Wammack.
This program is flexible and allows parents the opportunity to have their child attend every day or
just one day a week. Students can also be picked up anytime before 5:45. Parents and students enjoy the programs flexibility and are appreciative for having such a program sponsored by Celltron.
