Alumni & Teacher of the Fall Semester Honored

The Galena High School Student Council recently honored two individuals that have made a positive impact on the lives of many past and present GHS students.  Mrs. Jeri Roberts was voted the Outstanding Alumni for the Fall Semester.  Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Class of 1991.  She is a supporter of all things Bulldog and can be found at many Bulldog sporting events throughout the year.  She is also a Partner in Education for the Bulldog incentive program.

Mrs. Lisa Botkin was chosen as the Outstanding Teacher for the Fall Semester.  This is Mrs. Botkin’s second year in the Galena School District and her twenty-first year in education.  Mrs. Botkin is a counselor for students at Galena Middle and Galena High Schools.   Besides her counseling duties, Mrs. Botkin is also a high school volleyball coach and helps with the Connect Mentorship, Bulldog Incentive card, Battle of the Bulldogs programs, as well as several other incentive programs.  She also helps sponsor the GMS Student Council.  She goes above and beyond to help the students in our district.

The picture plaques that were presented will hang along with the existing plaques for past Outstanding Alumni and Teacher awards inside the front entrance at GHS for the next year.

The presentation was made by MaKenzie Grey, STUCO secretary, Adyson DeCocq, STUCO Utility Officer, Briley Krouse, Senior Vice President, and Lindsay Hussong, Senior Secretary.

The Alumni and Teacher of the Semester awards are given every year during each semester.  If you would like to nominate an Alumni for this award, please email the name, the year the person graduated from GHS, and a brief reason why you are nominating the person to Lori Simmons.
