Fall Alumni & Teacher of the Semester Honored

Two individuals who have made a positive impact on the lives of many past and present GHS students were honored prior to the Galena Bulldog-Baxter Lions football game.  The awards were given out by MaKenzie Grey - STUCO Secretary. Malorie Bogle - STUCO Utility Officer, Lexi Price – Senior class President, and Taehler Watkins – Senior class Utility Officer.

Chosen as the Outstanding Alumni for this semester was Mr. Tom Watkins.  Mr. Watkins was a member of the Class of 1971 and is a huge supporter of all things Galena High School. He comes to almost every single sporting event, even if he doesn’t have a grandchild involved. He just loves coming to watch and cheer on the Bulldogs!

The Fall Outstanding Teacher was Mr. Randy Brooks.  This is Mr. Brooks’ third year in the Galena School District and his eighth year in education.  He previously taught at McDonald County High School in Missouri.  Mr. Brooks teaches Algebra 1 and Geometry at GHS.   Besides his teaching duties, Mr. Brooks serves as the middle school head football coach and assistant track coach.

The outstanding Alumni and Teacher of the Semester awards are given out by the Galena High School Student Council during both the Fall and Spring semesters.  If you would like to nominate an outstanding Alumni, please contact Lori Simmons or Jessica Shank at the high school.

Congratulations to Mr. Watkins and Mr. Brooks, our Fall 2020 Alumni & Teacher of the Semester!!!!
